Special
Funds
In addition to Endowment giving, the following special restricted
funds have been established by committed donors of The Jewish
Home throughout our 30-years of service for specific purposes.
Contributions to Special Funds are encouraged and may be made
throughout the course of the year:
• Alzheimer’s Fund – Provides funding for therapeutic
programming, education and materials for The Jewish Home’s
Dementia Program.
• Carl & Dorothy Bennett Music Fund – Funds musical
equipment, performances and music therapy programs.
• Charney Nursing Education Fund – Provides funding for
nursing assistants to advance their education.
• Belle Cone Library Fund – Purchases large-print books,
books on tape, periodicals, and specially adapted reading materials
for the Residents’ Library and Computer Lab.
• Julius & Matilda Fleischer Scholarship Fund – Funds
college scholarships to members of the Home’s Junior
Volunteer Program.
• Sidney Hoffman Memorial Fund – Provides support to encourage
computer literacy for our residents.
• Kaplan Family Candlelight
Dinner Fund – Provides support
for monthly Candlelight Dinners with residents and family members
that take place in the Coffee Shop of the Tandet Pavilion including
the cost of meals, service, and live entertainment.
• Bess Kaufman Scholarship
Fund – Provides scholarship
funding for clinical staff that wish to attend seminars, workshops
and pursue higher education.
• George Lipton Residents’ Life Enhancement Fund – Provides
ancillary programs and services as needed to enhance and enrich
quality of life.
• Vera List Creative Arts Fund – Provides funding for innovative
art therapy programs.
• Medical Education Fund – Provides support for continued
medical education to The Jewish Home’s medical staff.
• Pastoral Services Fund – Provides enhanced rabbinical
services including Student Rabbis.
• Pressman Intergenerational
Programming Fund – Provides
support for intergenerational programs that encourage interaction
between residents and children from our on-site Child Care
Center and the community.
• Smilow Family Administrative
Fellowship – A 12-month
fellowship offered to health care administration graduate students
that exposes the intern to a broad range of nursing home operations
and encourages continued leadership throughout the nation’s
Jewish nursing home industry.
• Weiss Adult Day Care Fund – Provides scholarships, enhanced
programming and support for transportation for Adult Day Care
participants.
• Work Activity Center Fund – Provides ongoing support
to the Work Activity Center of The Jewish Home.
These are just some special funds that have been made possible
by the generosity of our deeply committed community. We invite
