Sustaining
Donor Program
The
Annual Sustaining Donor Program raises funds to enrich the
lives of The Jewish Home’s residents. During its 27-years
of support, the Sustaining Donor Program and professionals
of The Jewish Home have collaborated
to create meaningful programming otherwise unavailable to our 360 residents.
Previous contributions have enabled the Home to fund the development
of an award-winning Muscle Strengthening Program, redesign
the Home’s
Work Activity Center, Dining Room, and Bennett Solaria, expand the Residents’ Computer
Lab, and create a state-of-the-art Recreation and Activity Room. The
community’s
generosity and the imaginations of the Home’s dedicated professional
staff enable these and other programs to be made available.
Program allocations for 2004 include installing a closed
circuit television system, which will allow residents
to remain in the comfort of their rooms
while also participating in the many programs that take place throughout
the facility. The funding of additional physical therapy equipment is
also planned and the enhancement of the Home’s Dementia Program will help
to ensure that therapeutic activities intended to promote well-being remain
a primary focus. The Great Performances Concert Series will again be offered
to the delight of residents and family members and the on-going support
of our Residents’ Computer Lab will enable more residents to learn
to navigate the Internet and correspond with loved ones near and far.
