New Year for Trees
At The Jewish Home for the Elderly, Fairfield, the holiday of Tu B'Shvat was celebrated recently (1/22/08) with special
foods and readings that celebrated the importance of nature in our lives.
"Tu B'Shvat is a time to rejoice in the gifts all around us," said Rabbi Joshua Zlochower, Director of Pastoral Services
at the Home. "In the midst of winter the holiday of Tu B'Shvat reminds us spring is on the way and once again the
outdoors will bloom with beauty and bounty."
